Transmuting litter

During my walk a few days ago, I noticed a rather quirky and original Christmas tree in my neighborhood, next to the golf club. Not only many golf balls lost and found across the lawns of various properties on my street were dangling on the tree's branches, but also a multitude of tiny plastic liquor bottles I have been noticing ever since I moved to this area. They are such an eye sore in this quiet neighborhood with majestic trees and incredible birds' symphonies. They are EVERYWHERE. I have given up months ago picking them up in front of my house near the mailbox. It is quite annoying and too Sisyphean for my exhausted spine, who needs more verticality than bending over as an act of submission towards carelessness and carbon footprint mega-generators.

Useless to say, I found this idea absolutely brilliant. And I suspected who was behind that: a no less brilliant, talented and original neighbor named Tony and who is a master gardener, Christmas-light installer, outdoors seasonal decorator, and musician. During another walk, when Tony saw me walk with a small log I had found and intended to use for my fireplaces, I asked him first thing. Yes, indeed, it was him. ''They are everywhere !'' And he said he would give me fire wood. Talk about transmutation !

So this morning, I went and added 4 more to this epic tree. And on my way back home, found four more... They are a plague ! But I love what Tony did with it. I hope those people who trash our planet like that get the message. I wonder what is going through their psyche, and if all of those shots are consumed by only one person, and the same each time... so many unanswered questions...

I felt this deserved a blog mention. On a special edition, today Monday. Because today isn't just any day, or any Monday. It is the birthday of my beloved Kristof. From an already quintessential boy, he is turning into a just as amazing young man. I am grateful for him !

Favorite superhero !

Easter

And there is so much to be grateful for this year, including Bibi, and all the ''firsts'' I had the privilege to witness: homecoming, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and today, my own version of an Advent calendar, which I just installed for the first time since 2021.

Happy birthday to my dear Advent boy, I am your biggest fan, and I am so looking forward to seeing you. Thank you for being born !

And happy December to everyone !

All these moments...  With your light, heart and soul, so close... I remember as if they happened yesterday... They changed my life, they changed me...

It was a mystical moment that brought tears to my eyes,
watching Mexican men dancing in the air, attached to a pole, surrounded by the loves of my life
